Holiday apartment in Melzo: culture, nature and activity

Melzo combines cultural history, events, nature and activity in a variety of ways. Palazzo Trivulzio, several churches, the Biblioteca Vittorio Sereni, the Oasi della Martesana and a Parc-Sud itinerary offer different ways to discover the town. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Melzo, you can therefore tailor your stay to the interests of your travel group. The past and present stand side by side, as do cultural events and time spent outdoors.

Palazzo Trivulzio and churches steeped in history

Palazzo Trivulzio takes you deep into Melzo’s history. It dates back to an older building core that was used as a garrison in the 13th century. From 1499 to 1678, the palazzo became the country residence of the Counts Trivulzio. Palazzo Trivulzio is currently home to the Teatro Trivulzio. Further events take place at the Teatro Trivulzio.

The churches also bear traces of different periods. The central fresco Madonna con Bambino from 1524 in the Chiesa di Sant’Andrea was attributed to Giovanni Agosti Nicola Moietta. In the final years of the 15th century, the Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Stelle was already the place of worship of a Carmelite monastery. The Chiesa di San Francesco was built in 1647 under the name “Oratorio dei Vivi e dei Morti”. Its restoration, considered the most recent at the time, was completed in 2010. The Oratorio di Sant'Antonio was commissioned by the Trivulzio family around 1640 as a private oratory.

Biblioteca Vittorio Sereni

The Biblioteca Vittorio Sereni invites you to discover its facilities and take part in events, readings, meetings, workshops and evening events. This also allows a stay centred around cultural events to be incorporated into your plans.

Nature at the Oasi della Martesana

The Oasi della Martesana is a natural area covering more than 30 hectares and extending across the municipalities of Pozzuolo Martesana and Melzo. Visits are subject to specific conditions: they are possible only when accompanied by or with the permission of volunteers, and on the days and at the times communicated on the entrance signs or via the website or social media channels. Visit planning must therefore follow the days and times communicated there.

Through Melzo on foot or by bicycle

A Parc-Sud itinerary passes through Melzo and can be completed on foot or by bicycle. This makes it possible to incorporate the route into a day plan that combines activity and discovery.

Choose a holiday apartment in Melzo to suit your daily rhythm

This mix can provide a useful starting point when choosing a holiday apartment in Melzo. If historical impressions and theatre events are the main focus, a culture-oriented daily rhythm takes centre stage; with nature and activity, the emphasis is different. For families with different preferences, this distinction helps organise the days they want to spend together in advance without limiting the stay to a single experience. This leaves room for a cultural event, a visit to nature or a stage outdoors, depending on what you would like to experience together.
