On the Imbersago side, it runs along the Adda on a flat and easy-to-follow cycle path.

Between the crossing and Renaissance history

The connection between landscape and history can be seen at the Traghetto Leonardesco. Its history can be traced back to 1454; Leonardo da Vinci depicted it in 1513 in a drawing contained in the Codice Atlantico. The Traghetto di Imbersago connects the bank at Imbersago with the bank at Villa d’Adda. A crossing offers a peaceful experience amid nature and history.

The Santuario della Madonna del Bosco also makes a distinct impression. It is easily reachable on foot from the centre of Imbersago. The Scala Santa comprises 349 steps, which believers still climb on their knees today. The sanctuary also preserves a publicly accessible collection of 112 votive offerings, including panels, canvases and cardboard works, most of which date from the 19th century. The origins of the devotion are associated with a reported apparition on 9 May 1617.
