San Fedele Intelvi combines impressive cultural traces with paths through the landscape of Valle Intelvi. Historic churches, the Percorso dei Totem Poetici, the small museum in Erbonne and trails of varying lengths provide specific points of interest for planning your day. For holiday planning, the tourist office of Centro Valle Intelvi provides information, maps and recommendations for Centro Valle Intelvi.

Culture and special places in San Fedele Intelvi

In the San Fedele district, the Percorso dei Totem Poetici leads through Centro Valle Intelvi. The circular route includes five stops of historical, poetic and scenic significance. Along the path are wooden totems displayed outdoors, created by wood sculptor Luca Galli, known as “Verna”. This gives a walk through the town an unusual combination of art, landscape and literary atmosphere.

The churches also tell stories of different periods. The façade of the Chiesa di Sant’Antonio Abate is made of neatly carved, well-fitted natural stone from the surrounding area. The original Romanesque church was built in the second half of the 12th century. In the San Fedele Superiore district, there is also the small Oratorio di Santa Liberata from the 18th century. It has a 19th-century gabled façade and houses an altarpiece of the Immaculate Conception by Carlo Carloni. The Chiesa di San Rocco contains a cycle of monochrome frescoes from the late 18th century.

Another historical highlight is located in Erbonne, a district of San Fedele Intelvi in the province of Como. There, the Piccolo Museo della Guardia di Finanza e del Contrabbando opened on 23 June 2002. It displays memorabilia relating to the history of the Guardia di Finanza and smuggling in this area. The exhibition can be viewed from outside through a glass pane in front of the entrance and through side windows. For Sunday, 13 September 2026, the 12th edition of I Beni della Terra has also been announced in Centro Valle Intelvi, an event dedicated to promoting the area and its agricultural traditions.

Trails with historical and scenic character

Various route descriptions are available for walks and hikes. The path along the mule track to Erbonne reaches Erbonne after approximately one hour and 20 minutes. Along this mule track are nevere, which were formerly used to store food, as well as old rural stone houses. In this way, the route combines physical activity with insights into earlier forms of rural life. An easy route of about one hour also leads from Pian delle Alpi to Monte San Zeno. The small church on Monte San Zeno was already a pilgrimage destination in the Middle Ages.

The equipment has been removed from the former fitness trail. It consisted of two loops that joined at one point to form a shared section. The path led from Casa Vacanze to Centro Valle Intelvi, in the San Fedele district. This former route structure must therefore be clearly distinguished from facilities usable today and should not be understood as an existing fitness trail.
