Cermenate is part of Parco del Lura, a local park of supra-municipal interest established to protect and enhance the valley of the Lura River. The park has almost 40 km of cycling and walking trails, divided into three routes. Parco delle Groane and PLIS della Brughiera Briantea can also be explored via walking and cycling paths. These routes connect historical, cultural and artistic attractions.

The second cycling and walking route of Parco del Lura is 5 km long and leads from Caslino al Piano via Roccolo to Cermenate. At 5 km, the route between Caslino al Piano, Roccolo and Cermenate can be specifically incorporated into your day-trip planning. The park's circular route can be ridden in one direction and combined with a return journey on Trenord trains via stations along the Milano–Saronno–Como line.

Green space, playground and events

Parco Scalabrini is accessible via Via Scalabrini and Via Montessori and covers approximately 48,000 m². Its facilities include a large playground and numerous tree species, including some centuries-old trees. Especially in summer, the park hosts cultural, leisure and sporting events organized by the municipal administration and local associations.

Historical traces and sacred art

One of the notable historic buildings is Villa Clerici in Cermenate, a villa built before 1722. Roccolo di Cermenate was built in 1932 and was given the name “Casina Carla”.

The Centro Visite Roccolo is an interpretation centre for forest ecosystems and is housed in a restored hunting structure known as a roccolo. Dioramas there reconstruct natural habitats in different seasons and illustrate the region's typical forest fauna. During educationally guided visits, you can view the roccolo's equipment and try out acoustic lures that imitate the songs of typical native birds.

The churches also add their own cultural highlights. The Santuario del Crocifisso, also known as the Chiesa di San Vincenzo Martire, houses an image of Saint Bernardino with the Madonna and Child dated 1473, as well as a wooden crucifix from the 16th century mounted on a silver-plated cross. The Chiesa dei Santi Vito e Modesto was consecrated in 1907. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross with three naves, while the façade has a Baroque character.
