The Porta di San Giorgio is a pointed-arch gateway that led from Via della Ripa to Borgo San Giorgio. The Chiesa di San Sebastiano e Santa Maria Assunta was built between 1602 and 1620 on the saddle below the castle.

The Chiesa di Nostra Signora del Soccorso was founded as an oratory following a reported Marian apparition during the plague of 1524 and was later regarded as a Marian shrine. The Hospital of San Niccolò has been documented since the late 14th century and included facilities for travelers and the sick.
