There are several winter sports options: Sestola has 30 kilometres of downhill ski runs, as well as a cross-country skiing trail. There are different ways to reach the Rocca, each with its own starting point. The historic Via Governatori del Frignano climbs steeply from the Campanile di Sestola and passes through the walls of the Rocca. Via Castello leads to the castle from Via Macello, in the area of the Biblioteca Comunale. The paved road is closed to traffic; during the summer months, it is used by the shuttle bus to the castle.
