Vidiciatico lies between the Silla and Dardagna mountain streams at the foot of Monte Pizzo. Chestnut, pine, fir and beech forests shape the surrounding landscape. This gives the town several starting points for a trip: water activities, trails through the countryside, culture and traditional festivals can be combined to create different kinds of holiday days.

Water Activities and Relaxing Holiday Days

The Conca del Sole municipal swimming pool is a water paradise surrounded by greenery, with views of the Silla Valley and the surrounding mountains. Its facilities include a 30-metre water slide, hot tubs, hydrobikes and a baby park. Those travelling with children can include the expressly mentioned baby park in their daily plans, just as they can the slide. The facilities therefore work well as a focus in their own right for a stay that is not intended to consist exclusively of excursions.

When looking for a holiday apartment or holiday home in Vidiciatico, it is worth first deciding on the pace you want for your trip. If water activities are to play an important role, the focus of your holiday days will be different from that of a trip centred mainly on trails, mountains or culture. The destination leaves this choice open, without requiring you to commit to just one type of stay.

Hiking, Mountain Biking and Excursions

Near the town centre, signs point towards Ca’ Gabrielli. This is where CAI Trail 129 begins. Another option is the route to Monte Pizzo, which leads from the meadows of Budiara along a trail to Vidiciatico. Those who prefer to explore the landscape on two wheels can ride the Budiara–Monte Pizzo loop above Vidiciatico by mountain bike or e-bike.

These different formats help with planning a varied stay: one trail leads from Budiara towards the town, while the loop is specifically described for mountain bikes and e-bikes. Vidiciatico is also a starting point for the ski slopes and excursions in the Upper Apennines.

Culture, History and Festivals

Vidiciatico also has notable attractions beyond its natural surroundings. Cinema Teatro La Pergola shows first-run and second-run films, major cinema classics, independent films and documentaries. Its programme also includes auteur animation films, small theatre productions, concerts, meetings, presentations and conferences. The cinema thus provides a cultural complement to outdoor activities.

The Oratorio di San Rocco has a portico supported by columns made of local sandstone and a bell gable. Inside is a recently uncovered fresco depicting a standing male figure in a niche, probably dating from the time the building was constructed in 1631. The Festa del Voto is associated with San Rocco and takes place every year on 1 August. The new San Pietro Church in Vidiciatico was consecrated on 29 June 1884.

The Festa del Borgo has been held for more than 20 years and also showcases the town’s culinary side. Offerings include ciacci made with chestnut flour, tigelle with cold cuts and polenta with wild boar. Those who value nature, culture and local traditions when choosing a holiday apartment in Vidiciatico will find several specific themes here to incorporate into their own travel plans.
