Several invocations to unidentified ancient deities were found in the Grotta di San Cristoforo. There is also an inscription in which Felicior Hispanus asks a deity for a safe crossing of the strait without fear. The cave thus offers a glimpse into religious beliefs and a specific request to cross the strait.
