Culture and history
Zalaháshágy is described as a historic village and was first mentioned in 1328 under the name Villaháshágy.
The oldest mentioned landmark in the village is a 12th-century Church of the Holy Trinity. It contains a semicircular tympanum stone with depictions of dragons and animals, which is attributed to the period following the Hungarian Conquest.
Zalaháshágy lies on the edge of Zala County, next to Őrség and Zalalövő, between Zalacséb and Vaspör. Szőce is its northwestern neighbor in Vas County.
A former fortified manor house associated with the Hásságyi family stood next to the church. The former earthworks east of the church were investigated in 1956, but the area was later largely leveled.
