History and Culture
The settlement was established in 1937 through the merger of Lispe, Szentadorján and Erdőhát. Its modern history also includes the discovery of oil fields and the opening of Hungary’s first industrial oil well in 1937.
The cemetery contains the ruins of a 16th-century monastery. Lispeszentadorján also has historical ties to Zalavár Abbey: in 1024, Stephen I of Hungary donated the village to the abbey.
There is a Roman Catholic church in the Szentadorján district.
