Culture and history
Holitscher Castle is a former Baroque building that was rebuilt and extended several times over the centuries. It is recorded as the property of Eszterházy Imre for the years 1747 to 1749.
The chapel in the park of Holitscher Castle was reconsecrated on 30 September 2007. Beside it is the tomb of the person after whom the castle was named; the chapel is open to visitors.
Csetény’s present-day Reformed Church stands on the site of the community’s first medieval church. It was built between 1792 and 1793, partly from the ruins of the medieval stone church.

The park of Holitscher Castle is laid out in the English style and covers more than 16 Hungarian cadastral holds. The forests around Csetény offer opportunities for excursions.
The mountains Cuha-hegy, Tunyog-hegy, Öreg-Futóné and Márkus Szekrénye are located in the surroundings of Csetény.

Count Cseszneky Castle is located near Csetény. Further afield in the region are the ruins of Csókakői Várrom and the historic site of Esegvár.
Getting there
Csetény can be reached by bus from Veszprém and Székesfehérvár, as well as directly from Budapest.
