Culture and history
Mándok is home to Forgách Castle, a late Baroque aristocratic residence built around 1750 that was later remodelled in the eclectic style. For visitors interested in architecture and local history, this building is a specific cultural point of reference.
The estate of Forgách Castle includes a four-hectare garden. Its trees include two plane trees more than 200 years old, a tulip tree, rows of horse chestnuts and black pines.
Mándok has been documented since the 14th century, held district-seat status from 1876 to 1950, and was granted town rights in 2007.

Mándok is located in northern Hungary, about nine kilometres south of Záhony and near the Ukrainian border.
Roads 4112, 4113 and 4155 meet in Mándok. The town is also connected to the railway line from Záhony via Vásárosnamény to Mátészalka.
