Kemecse is a town in the Észak-Alföld region of Hungary and is located in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.
Kemecse has a railway stop on the Budapest–Záhony line. It is located in the southern part of the built-up area and can be reached via minor road 38315, which branches off from the junction of roads 3823 and 3825.
Kemecse is documented in the Váradi Regestrum of 1222. A local resident named Farkas is mentioned there; at that time, the settlement name is recorded as Kemesa.
