Culture
The Petőháza Sugar Industry and Local History Collection introduces visitors to the history of sugar; guided tours and collection offerings focus on this subject and its physiological role. The collection is open from 1 March to 31 October on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Groups can arrange a flexible appointment by prior registration.
The present-day Church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1902–1903. It was designed by János Schiller in the neo-Romanesque style, with a tower designed in the neo-Gothic style. Its tower houses a bell weighing 4.2 hundredweights, which was awarded a Grand Prize at the 1900 Paris World’s Fair.
The Park of Honour in Petőháza was created in the summer of 2016 on the site of the old cemetery. Its wrought-iron entrance gate dates from 1847.
Nature
Protected and native plant species have been planted in the Petőháza arboretum. The arboretum’s pond is maintained by the Petőháza Angling Association and stocked with fish several times a year.
Water
The surroundings of Belső tó in Petőháza are well maintained and designed like a park. A small wooden hut and a picnic area have been set up by the lake. In colder winters, an ice surface suitable for sports forms there and is used by ice skaters.
