Getting There
Gádoros has a railway connection on MÁV line 147 Kiskunfélegyháza–Orosháza; the station is located on the southern edge of the built-up area. Road access is via minor road 44307, which branches off road 4407 to the west.
Culture and History
Gádoros preserves the name of one of two villages dating from the Árpád era. Both villages were connected with the present-day settlement but were not resettled in the late Middle Ages; in 1241, the area was burned down by the Tatars. For visitors interested in cultural history, this local history provides a specific point of reference.
The writer Zsigmond Justh is associated with Gádoros: his grave monument was moved there in 1963, and he founded a peasant theatre on his estate, where local agricultural workers performed classical and folk plays.
In the Dr László Hidasi Memorial Park in front of the town hall stands a bust of the former village doctor, who worked in Gádoros for 42 years.
