Local History at the Sásdi Történeti Téka
The Téka collection was catalogued by members of the Honismereti Szakkör with the support of a museum specialist. As part of the “Digitár” project, completed in 2012, a new exhibition room for the collection opened in the Sásdi Történeti Téka building. Members of the Honismereti Szakkör meet every two weeks. Their activities include collecting and cataloguing objects, writing a chronicle and running an exhibition. Visits to the local history exhibition must be arranged in advance. So be sure to plan this stop as a scheduled appointment.
Church Art and Remembrance
The Roman Catholic Church of Kisboldogasszony was built in 1796 in the Zopf style and is adorned with an altarpiece by Dorfmeister. The architectural style and the altarpiece offer two distinct points of interest: architecture and painting. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the church garden. In front of the chapel in Hősök kertje, a bronze statue commemorates those who fell in the First World War; the memorial is the work of sculptor Károly Cser. Religious art and remembrance of the fallen thus stand side by side as distinct cultural themes.
