Landscape
Görcsönydoboka is a dead-end settlement. The village can be reached via a connecting road that starts at the junction near Somberek and branches off from the road between Mohács and Pécsvárad. The Baranyai Sárgatúra, a 46.71-kilometre hiking trail, also passes through Görcsönydoboka.
The Church of Saint Anne in Cseledoboka offers expansive views over the village. The view reveals a landscape characterised by agriculturally used hill ridges enclosing the valley of the watercourse that runs through the village. The Calvary with its three stone crosses is a particularly valuable lookout point in Görcsönydoboka.
History
Around 1745, German-speaking settlers moved to Ráczgörcsöny and Doboka. They probably came from Franconia and brought with them a mixed dialect, particularly its characteristic Fuldian variety. Görcsönydoboka has two churches because the village emerged from the formerly separate settlements of Cseledoboka and Ráczgörcsöny.
Culture
The village's cultural groups and programmes draw on and build upon German national minority traditions. The Faluház was built in the centre of the village; at its initiative, cultural groups were gradually established. The tradition of the Swabian wedding festival was also revived.
The Church of Saint Anne in Cseledoboka was built in 1820 and dedicated to Saint Anne. The church and the stone cross erected in front of it in 1926 are considered elements worthy of protection; the church has been renovated. Services are held every Sunday in the Church of Saint Florian in the Doboka district. In the Church of Saint Anne in the Görcsöny district, prayers are said and a liturgy of the Word is celebrated in connection with the feast day of Saint Anne.
The Catholic church on Csele Street dates from the 19th century. A stone cross stands in the square in front of the Catholic church on Csele Street. The sandstone cross erected at the entrance to the village in 1905 and the statue of Saint Wendelin are also part of the village's character; both are valuable elements worthy of preservation. The statue of Saint Wendelin depicts the patron saint of shepherds.
