Another wooden representation of the saint associated with St Derfel's Church is said to have been burned in London after the Reformation.

The story also lives on in local traditions: in the 18th century, Ceffyl Derfel was reportedly carried in a procession from St Derfel's Church to Bryn Saint every Easter Tuesday and used there as a makeshift fairground ride at a fair. Bryn Saint was once the field where village wakes were held. St Derfel's Church is recognised as a pilgrimage church.
