Discover Montalbert – Skiing, Trails and Chapels
Plagne Montalbert reveals two distinct sides over the course of the year: in winter, it offers alpine skiing and marked cross-country ski trails; in summer, you will find hikes and numerous themed trails in a wooded setting. This range provides a clear starting point when searching for a holiday apartment in Montalbert: first decide whether winter sports, summer trails or cultural discoveries should shape your stay.
Mountain sports and winter trails
The Bureau des Guides et Accompagnateurs de Plagne Montalbert is available to help organise your chosen mountain sports activities. This means that, alongside the winter sports options, you can also keep a local point of contact in mind for planning your mountain activities in person.
The trail to the Montgésin chapel
The Le Chemin de Montgésin trail begins in Montalbert and leads to the Montgésin chapel in about an hour. The chapel was built in 1658 in the Baroque style in the heart of the small hamlet of Montgésin. Inside, it preserves a recently re-gilded Baroque altarpiece.
Chapels and the history of water
The Bief Bovet trail runs along an irrigation canal built in the 13th century. The canal was used to irrigate the fields, water livestock and power mills. The trail therefore leads not only through the landscape, but also to a concrete example of former land use.
The Chapelle de la Superga was built in 1855 on the site of an oratory dedicated to the Passion of Christ. It is a miniature replica of the famous building of the same name in Turin. When planning your visit, please bear in mind that the chapel is not open to the public and can be viewed from the outside.
E-bike, climbing activity and Mountain-Cart
The Les Envers e-bike route runs between La Plagne and Montalbert through the alpine pastures and the Les Envers forest. The route therefore connects two different landscape impressions without requiring an additional focus for your excursion.
The Parcours Alpin is a roped climbing activity in easy terrain. The Mountain-Cart route is 4.4 kilometres long and covers 620 metres of elevation gain. Both activities complement the quieter trails with experiences that are distinctly focused on physical activity.
Holiday apartment in Montalbert and your daily itinerary
You can also take the starting points into account when planning your stay: the Bief Bovet trail begins at the Montalbert 1600 car park, while the Boucle de Montalbert e-bike loop starts at the du Chaillet car park. If you are looking for a holiday apartment or holiday house in Montalbert, you can choose the desired location based on the activities that should define your stay. Your choice of holiday apartment or holiday house can therefore be guided by the sporting, historical or landscape interests that shape your stay.
