Winter sports
The Les Bottières ski area has two drag lifts and four pistes ranging from green to red difficulty levels. Les Bottières provides access to the Sybelles ski area towards La Toussuire. There is also a ski touring route and five snowshoe trails in the village.
Trails and landscape
The FFC La Cochette cycling route begins in Les Bottières and is classified as a red route. It is 9.9 km long, has an elevation gain of 400 m and takes an estimated 1.5 to 2 hours.
The Sentier découverte des Bottières is a 2.0 km circular trail. It passes near the Chapelle Saint Bernard de Menthon; the Baroque chapel is distinguished by a pointed-arch door made of tuff stone. Educational boards along the circular trail provide information about mountain fauna and flora.
Lac du Lou can be reached on foot or by car and is suitable for a picnic.
Culture
At the Fête du Gypse, which was held for the fourth time in Les Bottières, there were demonstrations and introductions to plaster sculpture, an arts and crafts market and activities for children.
Directions
To reach Les Bottières, take the A43 to Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, then continue through the Arvan Valley on the D 926 and finally via Saint-Pancrace to Les Bottières on the D 78C.
