A signposted 8.5-kilometre round trip to Mont Julioz begins in Le Châtelard. The summit of Mont Julioz offers a viewpoint overlooking the Hautes Bauges, the villages and the various valleys of the massif.

Culture and History

The Sentier des Maîtres du mont Déserté is a 5.2-kilometre circular hike that begins in Le Châtelard. The trail uses wooden sculptures and puzzles to explain a landslide that occurred there in 1931. The lower loop, “Montagne sous contrôle!”, showcases the modern techniques used at this location to combat landslides.

The Maison du Parc: Espace découverte presents an exhibition about the Parc Naturel Régional du Massif des Bauges, with information, models and projections.
