Hiking

The signposted Pierre à cupules out-and-back trail is a very easy, 3.3 km hike that takes around one hour from the car park by the town hall. The Pierre à cupules is a fine-grained sandstone block with a maximum dimension of 1.80 m; its surface contains around 60 isolated cup marks with diameters of 2 to 9 cm. The cup-marked stone of Feissons-sur-Salins is remarkable for its exceptional quality and variety.

The Boucle du Dou de Saint Maurice is a hike accessible to everyone that starts in the village and leads to the Baroque church and to a panorama over Vanoise and the 3 Valleys.

Culture and history

The Notre Dame de la Salette Chapel was built in 1779 at the Pré Benoit site and renovated in 2016. During the occupation, it served as a hiding place for people who refused to perform the STO. The chapel is open every day all year round.

The Church of Saint-Maurice features late Baroque furnishings and an important collection of reliquaries. Its high altar retains Baroque elements and depicts Saint Maurice on horseback and Saint Blaise as a bishop. The church is open every day year-round; access is available upon request to the municipal council or as part of guided tours.

Le Villard is a traditional village with narrow lanes and houses built into the hillside. The hamlet of Le Villard is home to the Saint Joseph Chapel.
