Belle-Plagne is located at an altitude of 2,050 metres. Its architecture is inspired by Savoyard tradition and was designed by the architect Michel Bezançon. It is considered the architecture of a fourth-generation resort. Traditional materials such as stone, wood and slate are used; the divided roofs are typical of chalets.

Winter

Belle-Plagne provides access to the La Plagne ski area, with 225 kilometres of pistes at altitudes between 1,250 and 3,080 metres. There is also direct access to the Roche de Mio gondola, which can be used to reach the Bellecote Glacier. The Belle-Plagne ski area is connected to Plagne Bellecôte; from there, connections are available to Plagne Centre, Champagny-en-Vanoise and Montchavin-les-Coches. The snow park has two freestyle zones.

The ESF programme in Belle-Plagne offers guided snowshoe hikes on snowy trails from Sunday to Friday, including themed tours. At the end of the week, a more challenging tour is offered, during which the Alps can be discovered from the summit of Mont St Jacques.

Nature

In summer, Belle-Plagne is a starting point for walks and mountain bike tours. The Boucle de Roche de Mio route begins at Belle-Plagne’s upper car park next to the Les Balcons residence, reaches Roche de Mio at an altitude of 2,739 metres and passes by Lac des Blanchets. Ibex may possibly be spotted at Roche fendue.

During a summer outing from Belle-Plagne, the summit of Roche de Mio can be reached at an altitude of 2,700 metres, offering panoramic views of the mountains. Belle-Plagne is also a starting point for the Via Ferrata des Bourtes, which is rated from AD to D in difficulty. The Balcon route leads from Belle-Plagne towards Dou du Praz and is accessible with an all-terrain 4x4-type pushchair.

Wellness

Les Bains de Belle Plagne is a 1,500 m² wellness centre with views of the Alpine landscape. It includes a heated outdoor water circuit with water features and swimming elements, including fountains, a counter-current channel and massage jets.

Getting Around

Belle-Plagne is designed entirely as a pedestrian resort. Two large covered car parks provide access to the accommodation in Belle-Plagne. The SNCF Aime-La-Plagne railway station serves Belle Plagne, among other destinations.
