Arc 1800: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Arc 1800 has been designated as “Architecture contemporaine remarquable” (ACR). This designation replaces “Patrimoine du XXe siècle”.

Architecture and culture

Charlotte Perriand was involved in the construction of the Arc 1800 winter sports resort in the 1970s. Detailed analyses of Arc 1800’s built fabric examine both the residential complex and the housing ensemble.

The Galerie des Minéraux is located at the intermediate station of the Transarc cable car in Arc 1800. Its curated tour explores how minerals have shaped humanity and how humans have transformed these treasures of the Earth.

Layout and discoveries

Arc 1800 is divided into four car-free districts: Charvet, Villard, Chantel and Charmettoger.

Along the Sentier de l'Homme-Cairn, enigmatic sculptures, unusual engravings and marine fossils tell the story of a learned people who lived here long before us, when the oceans covered the Alpine peaks.

Water and wellness

The Arc 1800 aquatic centre has 3,800 m² of water areas and is located in the heart of Arc 1800.

The aquatic centre’s wellness area includes two steam rooms, two saunas, a cold-water bucket, a relaxation room, showers and an herbal tea room.

For children, the Arc 1800 aquatic centre has a paddling pool, water games, a lazy river and a Pentagliss slide.

Activities

The Luge 1800 is a 900 m-long run with banked bends and wooded sections. The start of the Luge 1800 can be reached by the Villards gondola lift.

The Ride Park is located in the heart of Arc 1800. It includes a pump track, a skate park, a BMX flat area, a skate ramp and an area for freestyle scooters.

Golf des Arcs offers the 18-hole Le Chantel course with a par of 70 and the 9-hole Le Beauchet course with a par of 27.
