Noirétable: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The GR3 long-distance hiking trail crosses the grounds of Notre-Dame de l’Hermitage, and a circular trail from the sanctuary leads to the Lit de la Vierge.

Trails and Landscape

Le Plan d’Eau offers an easy walk along the water. Autel de la baronnie is a formation created by erosion, consisting of a series of rocks with basins carved into the rock. The rock formation is more than 50 metres long.

Cheix Blanc is a mountain in the vicinity of Noirétable. The Pic de la Rochette, Pierre Pamole and Roc du Guet are also located in the area around Noirétable; all three are mountains.

Culture and Tradition

Notre-Dame de l’Hermitage is a pilgrimage site with a monastery, two chapels and a spring in the forest. The Cadran solaire was created by Yves Guyot in 2000. It is an analemmatic sundial of the azimuth type.

Les Grandes Sagnes de l’Hermitage is associated with the legend that, in the 12th century, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a criminal who remained there until his death.
