Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour combines hiking, village history and nature. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour can keep the village in mind as a travel destination.
Hiking
Hike no. 1 is an easy 18.5-kilometre circular route with 250 metres of elevation gain. It starts at the car park by the cemetery in Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour and passes, among other places, the Château du Pin.
The “Tour des Châteaux” is a separate route. The circular route “Le tour du Lac Saint Felix” is also an independent hike. It is 5.7 kilometres long and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Culture and history
The Maison forte de Maison Blanche, including the residential building, dovecote and outbuildings, was listed as a historic monument by decree of 6 February 2025. Maison Blanche first appears in 1350 in a register of fortified houses. The complex was built to defend the country against frequent incursions by the Savoyards.
The “Randonnée Pédagogique et Historique” is designed as a village quiz. At each station, the circular tour leads to an immersive information board about the history and anecdotes of the village. On this route, the village’s stories are conveyed visually and acoustically.
Nature
Lac Saint-Félix is a 21.5-hectare private natural lake surrounded by oak and chestnut forests. On the southern shore of Lac Saint-Félix, there is a path for hiking.
Regional bus route PBE06 connects La Tour-du-Pin, Saint-Didier-de-la-Tour and Pont-de-Beauvoisin.
