Corbelin: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Donat factory in Corbelin produced patterned silk fabrics for luxury products. Connected with this silk industry heritage is the Les Rondiers media library, housed in a renovated former silk factory.

Near the former priory, the Notre-Dame de Compassion church was rebuilt after 1880. The former priory in Corbelin was founded as early as 1129 by Ponce, the Bishop of Belley.

The oldest surviving parts of the Domaine de Champ Levet date from the 16th century and include remarkable windows with mullions and transoms. The estate’s outbuildings once housed a silkworm farm, an oven with two fireboxes, and a washhouse.

The machinery and engines of the Guiguet workshop, which were used to manufacture motorcycle parts, have been completely preserved. The workshop is associated with the M.-G.-C. motorcycles produced by Marcel Guiguet.

The Guiguet estate still preserves the hall with its original equipment, a shed, a barn, and the family residence.

Those who have chosen Corbelin as their destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
