Trans-En-Provence: Holiday apartments and houses

Culture and history

An unusual testament to the town’s history is the Puits aérien. It was built in 1931 by the Belgian engineer Achille Knapen to collect atmospheric moisture through condensation. Since December 9, 1983, the Puits aérien has been listed as a historic monument.

The Hôtel de Ville also reflects the history of Trans-en-Provence. It was built from 1779 to 1781 and has a façade in the style of Louis XV. This façade has been listed as a historic monument by an order dated November 16, 1949.

The present-day Saint Victor Church already existed in the 13th century. It was rebuilt in 1490 and consecrated on November 22, 1496, by Nicolas de Fiesque, the Bishop of Fréjus.

The Chapelle Notre Dame was built at the end of the 15th century. Inside is a Pietà donated by Queen Marie-Amélie, the wife of Louis-Philippe.

Nature

The Boucle du Calant circular trail is equipped with networked information panels. Via NFC and QR codes, they offer additional videos and explain the geology of the gorges, the mills, and the operation of the hydroelectric power station.

Cuisine

At Oliveraie La Colline, olive oils of various varieties are produced. Products are also available for tasting there.
