The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pennafort has a dome that was built in 1855 on the remains of an older chapel. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pennafort is also associated with a religious pilgrimage tradition held on Whit Sunday.

The Église Notre-Dame de l’Assomption is also part of Callas’s history: the oldest surviving document concerning it is a charter from 1055. The Maison du Patrimoine Callassien presents a 19th-century living space with regional clothing, furniture, everyday objects and agricultural tools.

Landscape

The Chapelle Saint Auxile lies 1.5 km southeast of Callas, on the summit of a hill overlooking the village. A pilgrimage to the Chapelle Saint Auxile takes place on the first Sunday in May; it is also a place for walks and quiet contemplation.

The Gorges de Pennafort are of particular geological interest and are overlooked by the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pennafort. A small path leads to the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pennafort, located on a rocky spur at the confluence of two valleys.

Oil and Crafts

The Moulin Musée preserves traditional equipment from an oil mill, including a waterwheel, presses, wooden gears and a stone millstone. A visit to the Moulin Musée follows the olive’s journey from harvesting to being poured into the container. The Moulin Musée is open by prior reservation.
