Landscape
La Penne is generally reached from Puget-Théniers via the Col de Saint-Raphaël. The area lies at an altitude between 520 m and 1,208 m. Forest dominates in the north and south, while numerous small streams flow through the area. The village centre is situated at an altitude of 800 m and overlooks extensive meadows used for the still-significant sheep farming industry.

Culture and History
The Église Saint Pierre also features a wall fresco dating from 1530. The Notre Dame du Plan chapel dates back to the 11th century and was built on the foundations of an ancient Roman temple. The chapel offers a view of the village of La Penne.
Pierre d’Uriel, also known as the Stèle de la Penne, stands to the left of the entrance by the cemetery wall. The rectangular monument has a triangular pediment above two panels.
The remains of a former village dating from the 11th century are preserved on the Roccaforte ridge.
Festivals and Trails
The La Baisse de Roccaforte discovery trail begins at the car park in the square of La Penne. The Saint-Roch patronal festival takes place every year on the weekend of 15 August. It includes a mass, Aubades for the local population, balls and speeches.
