Oraison combines water, historic sites and walking tours with a strong local almond tradition. South of Oraison are the Lacs des Buissonnades. They consist of a swimming lake, an equipped fishing lake and a reservoir, and also offer water games and stand-up paddleboard rental.

Renting a holiday apartment in Oraison is a decision in its own right when planning a trip.

Nature

The Saint Pancrace hiking trail in Oraison is a marked 4-km circular route with 180 metres of elevation gain. The route takes 1 hour 30 minutes and has a moderate level of difficulty. The Bois de Saint-Martin route follows a canal past olive groves, crosses the Bois de Saint-Martin and returns to the starting point via the ruins of Villevieille.

The Source de la Boucharde has been used since the early Middle Ages and supplies Oraison's nine fountains and three washhouses. The Pont de la Durance is a seven-arch bridge with a total length of 285 metres. It is freely accessible and best viewed from the Hippodrome.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Saint Pancrace dates from the 12th century. The Église Notre Dame du Thor combines Gothic architecture from the 15th and 16th centuries with Romanesque round-arch elements.

Oraison's bandstand was built in spring 1926 to replace the former fountain and was ceremonially inaugurated by the Fanfare of Oraison.

Walking Tours and Information

Oraison has the tourist walking tour “Les Fontaines et les Lavoirs d’Oraison”. The “Le Patrimoine Oraisonnais” tour begins at the Oraison Tourist Information Office.

The Oraison Tourist Information Office provides local tourist information as well as tickets and booking options for activities, guided tours, concerts, performances, accompanied hikes and transport. Guided tours of Perl'Amande are available by reservation through the Oraison Tourist Information Office.

The ruins of Villevieille are freely accessible and can be reached from the Tourist Information Office via Rue Elie Louis Julien, Rue Auguste Brun and Rue Rosé Banon. The ruins include a dilapidated tower; in the surrounding area, sections of wall extend over 50 metres.

Food and Drink

Perl'Amande maintains an almond tradition in Haute-Provence dating back to 1920. The Pointue d'Oraison is a local almond variety that once enjoyed a certain reputation at the market.
