In the centre of Suaux, the Château de Suaux stands behind the church and is accessible through the gatehouse. The château was built in 1585 and features frescoes from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as a magnificent fireplace.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Cybard dates from the 13th century and has been restored. Its features include the Stations of the Cross, a gallery, a pulpit, a bas-relief and interior lighting. Every village in Suaux has a washhouse and a fountain.
Suaux lies along the Via Agrippa, the Roman road between Lyon and Saintes.
Landscape
The area around Suaux is hilly and includes forests, copses, natural meadows and cultivated land. Many fountains in Suaux, some of which have retained their washhouses, feed small streams. These flow into the Bonnieure, the municipality’s most important river; the Bonnieure flows to the south.
Trails
The circular trail “Suaux sentier de la verte Epine” is suitable for hiking, Nordic walking, running and cycling. Its starting point is at 1 Rue Ouest, 16260 Suaux. Another circular trail is called “Suaux sentier les Vallées” and follows quiet, wooded paths through the countryside.

Getting There
Suaux is crossed by the RN 141 and a non-electrified railway line, but has no railway station. The nearest stations are located in Chasseneuil to the south and Roumazières to the north.
