Culture
The Église Saint-Maurice dates from the late 12th century. During the Hundred Years’ War, it was fortified, including by raising the walls of the nave and choir apse. Since 24 April 1909, the Église Saint-Maurice has been classified in its entirety as a historic monument.
On the Place du Terrier, also known as Place du Lion, at the foot of a stone Calvary with a cross made of the same granite, lies an elongated granite lion. The granite lion dates from the Early Middle Ages. The Calvary and the cross mark the site of the former cemetery.
Festivals and Food
Saint Maurice en Fête takes place every year on the second Saturday in June as a festive event on the grounds of the Moulin de La Cour.
The traditional Automnales took place in Saint-Maurice-des-Lions on 26 October 2025 and are held every year. At the 2025 Automnales, chestnuts, crêpes and apple juice were offered.
Nature and Trails
The Sentier des Tuileries begins on Rue de la Libération and is open year-round.
A standard fishing permit is required for fishing at Étang du Chambon.
