Valines showcases its history through several notable buildings. Forestier Frères was founded before 1836 as a manufactory for fine, luxurious and precise locksmithing products. History
At the Place du Maréchal-Leclerc are the former town hall and the former primary school for girls. Both were built in 1883 by the building contractor Paul Wamain under the direction of the architect Henry Delabroye. The building is made of brick and slate, has a five-bay façade and a small tower with a conical roof.
The former parish church and former Saint-Médard cemetery in Valines became the Saint-Mard Chapel. It is dedicated to Saint Médard and is made of flint, brick and stone.

The church in the hamlet of Saint-Mard in Valines houses the statue „Saint Médard dit saint Mard“. The work dates from the 19th century and was listed as a protected object on 11 June 1982.
The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Valines was built in the 18th century. It is constructed of brick and covered with slate; an exterior niche on the church contains a statue of the Virgin and Child.
