Cuffies: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Cuffies is a village in the Soissonnais region, situated in a narrow, gorge- or funnel-shaped valley. It lies 3 km north of Soissons and 35 km southwest of Laon on the right bank of the Aisne. Cuffies is surrounded by hills 80 to 90 m high to the west, north and east.

Landscape
The Cuffies giant sequoia is approximately 140 years old, 36 m high and has a circumference of 5.70 m. It was part of a large park established by the Deviolaine family around Château Saint Norbert, built in 1865. A stream rises near the Ferme du Mont de Cuffies and runs through the municipality for approximately 2 km. Its upper section was channelled in 1848 through an 800 m-long aqueduct before the stream flows into the Aisne.
History and Culture
The Vauxrot glassworks was established around 1826–1827 in Vauxrot (Cuffies), near the Aisne. It produced champagne bottles, window glass, coloured glass and mirror glass. During the First World War, the front line ran through the Vauxrot glassworks and followed the Aisne.
Before the French Revolution, the Ferme du Mont de Cuffies belonged to Saint Paul Abbey. The Ferme du Mont de Cuffies was completely destroyed in 1918; its reconstruction began in 1920. Historically, the vineyards of Maison Bleue supplied grapes for wine, while the apple trees supplied apples for cider.
Paths and Views
The La Passerelle footbridge was built and opened in 2000 to connect Cuffies and Soissons. The Les Monts de Soissons route offers several viewpoints over Cuffies, the lowlands of Pasly and the Aisne Valley.
