Mamers: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
In Mamers, historic buildings, local culture and routes along the water come together. The Church of Saint Nicolas features construction phases from the 12th, 14th and 15th centuries, as well as a 17th-century portal. The Church of Notre-Dame houses a Renaissance depiction of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a 17th-century pulpit and choir stalls with 18th-century backs. The Halles, a 19th-century grain market hall, stand on Place Carnot.
Culture
Mamers has a still-operating Italian-style theatre housed in a former grain market hall. The building was erected in 1851 and converted into a cinema in 1936. The Tour Eiffel de Mamers is a 1:100-scale model. It was built in 1889 by a plumber who had worked on the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The Couvent de la Visitation was established in 1630 and is associated with the Davoust family.
The Office de Tourisme Maine Saosnois holds temporary exhibitions in its premises in Mamers throughout the year under the title “Un mois, une Expo”.
For a stay in Mamers with an interest in churches, the Halles and routes along the water, you may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
