Rémalard: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rémalard is located on the Véloscénie cycle route from Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel. The Véloscénie is a 450 km signposted cycle route between Paris and Mont-Saint-Michel. There are also gardens, historic buildings and natural sites to discover.

Cycling

In addition to the Véloscénie, a signposted 62 km road circuit runs through the three picturesque valleys of the Huisne, Commeauche and Corbionne.

Culture and history

Le Passage brings together a media library, a small art gallery and a space for meetings, conferences and performances. Each exhibition is accompanied by a meeting with the exhibiting artist or a specialist; this meeting takes the form of a public conference or workshop. All activities at Le Passage are free and open to everyone.

The „Nobles logis“ circuit begins at the Église Saint-Germain-d’Auxerre in Rémalard and follows small paths through the Rémalard countryside. It includes a detour to the Châtellier fortified site. The Châtellier fortified site was built in 1078 by William the Conqueror.

The Église Saint-Germain-d’Auxerre preserves a Romanesque western façade, a nave and a semicircular apse.

Nature

The Grotte de la Mansonnière is a bat hibernation site and the second most important hibernation site in the Perche. Around ten species have been observed there, including six species of Community interest.

The underground La Grotte de la Mansonnière quarry is of great geological interest because of the observation of primary karst.

Gardens and regional produce

Hélène d’Andlau began creating the La Petite Rochelle garden in 1976. The Jardin de La Petite Rochelle covers around 1.5 hectares and is divided into 10 themed gardens.

The Jardin du Moulin de Vaujours is a kitchen garden covering more than one hectare, managed according to the principles of permaculture and agroforestry. Guided tours with commentary are available by appointment from July to September.

The stall in the barn of the Jardin du Moulin de Vaujours showcases the day’s harvests and honey from the Perche. The stall is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
