Culture and History
The development of the Jardin botanique de Vauville began in 1948. The Botanical Gardens of Vauville have been classified as a French historic monument since 1992. A terrace at Château de Vauville offers views of the sea and the island of Aurigny.
The Allée couverte dite des Pierres Pouquelées was classified as a historic monument by decree of 28 January 1907. It is located within the municipality of Vauville at an elevation of 134 metres, is a megalithic monument built during the Neolithic period and served as a collective burial site.
Trails
The GR®223 – Nez des Voidries – Biville stage includes a stop in Vauville and then continues above the dunes and sea. It is a difficult 15.9-kilometre hike.
The “Entre mare et dunes” circular trail starts at the car park in the centre of Vauville and follows the GR223 along the coast. The starting point of the “Entre mare et dunes” circular trail at the “Vauville – Le Bourg” stop is accessible at weekends and during school holidays via the Cap Cotentin bus network.
