Champcey: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The historic Chemin de Saint-Michel pilgrimage route passes through Champcey, a variant of the Chemin aux Anglais to Mont-Saint-Michel. The route runs predominantly along unpaved paths and is well signposted; at the same time, the Chemin de Saint-Michel offers views of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.

Culture and History

The Église Notre-Dame de Champcey houses two statues from the high altar retable that are registered as cultural heritage objects in the choir: the Virgin and Child and Saint Joseph. The church has a remarkable high altar, whose retable was restored in 2017.

In 1944, after the landing, a tent camp for American soldiers was set up in the municipality of Champcey, in a field between Fondraye and Champs Guillaume.

Paths and Landscape

La Boucle des Fourches is a 4.2 km circular route that begins at the town hall square in Champcey. La Boucle du Manoir also starts there; it is a 3.5 km circular route with a walking time of around 50 minutes. The route offers a view of Château de Chantore and passes the Église de Champcey with its retable, as well as the cemetery.

For mountain bikers, the La Boucle VTT mountain-bike loop is listed. It is a 35 km mountain-bike route that includes Champcey on its route map.
