Culture and History

The Église Notre-Dame de Campigny has a small chapel; its choir dates from the 13th century. The bell tower can be reached via a narrow staircase with 63 steps.

The Gallo-Roman road of Campigny dates from the 1st century AD and once connected Pont-Audemer and Brionne across the plain. The Croix Capelle, dating from 1611, stands along this road. To this day, it remains associated with a pilgrimage in May for the blessing of the fields.

The Manoir du Réel overlooks the Véronne Valley. The Château de la Pérelle is located in La Viéville in Campigny. Historically, hundreds of pilgrims visited the Chapelle Saint-Firmin every year on 25 September.

Paths and Landscapes

The Chemin de l’Égyptienne path passes the Lavoir de Lillebec, an elaborately designed brick washhouse supplied year-round by a plentiful spring. The path also passes the Château de la Motte, which can be glimpsed behind a hedge.

The Chemin des Anciens Moulins path offers eight panoramic views over the Véronne Valley, extending over a total of 1,310 m of the route. Various bird species can be observed on the ornithological path along the Chemin des anciens moulins de Bigard.

The hikes make it possible to discover Campigny’s various hamlets. Campigny has two signposted hiking trails with a total route length of 17 km; GPS tracks are available for both.
