The 14 km-long hiking trail “Le Canteleu” runs through Givenchy-lès-La Bassée and Violaines. Anyone considering Violaines as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.
Nature and Trails
The municipal ponds of Violaines include “Les étangs de Violaines”. They are open year-round from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., but closed on Tuesdays. L’Arboretum is one of Violaines’ local natural and biodiversity features.
The Camping municipal de Violaines offers direct access to a wooded fishing lake equipped with picnic tables.
The 7.2 km-long outdoor puzzle trail “La Quête du Graal” also runs through Cuinchy, Givenchy and Violaines. The booklet for “La Quête du Graal” is available in the tourist office shop or online.
Culture and Festivals
Violaines’ events calendar includes the “Villaines course”, a festival held on the second weekend of September. As part of “Conteurs en campagne”, a storytelling aperitif is generally offered in Violaines in October.
For the strawberry festival, a strawberry beer is produced and sold exclusively on that day.

There are two historic sites in the vicinity of Violaines: Brayelle Abbey and Abbaye Notre-Dame de Beaupré.
