Berck-sur-Mer is situated in a preserved and protected dune landscape with paths where visitors can discover the characteristic flora and fauna. Berck Beach is 12 kilometres long and consists of fine sand, making it suitable for relaxation and leisure activities. The beach is ideal for flying kites, kitesurfing and sand yachting.
The Baie d'Authie is a wild, natural estuarine landscape between Fort-Mahon, Berck-sur-Mer, Waben and Groffliers. It offers opportunities for hiking and exploring extensive natural areas. A path leads to a platform and onwards to the Observatoire de la mare de l'Anse, from where numerous bird species can be observed in the dune landscape.
Paths
The Promenade du Professeur Debeyre is a cycle path shared with pedestrians that runs along the seafront promenade. It leads from the Esplanade Parmentier to the Baie d'Authie and onwards to Berck-Ville. From Berck, visitors can also use the Vélomaritime (EuroVelo 4), a cycle route running along the coast.

Culture and History
The restored fishing boat “Marianne-Toute-Seule” is displayed in the courtyard of the Musée Opale Sud and forms part of Berck’s maritime heritage. The “Parcours de la plage” tour begins at the former railway station, now the casino. It covers seaside resort architecture, Berck’s hospital history and the development of sport, particularly sand yachting.
The Musée de France houses one of France’s richest Merovingian collections, featuring jewellery, swords and vessels. It also presents a permanent collection of seascapes and scenes from Berck’s maritime life.
The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste was built on the site of a former watchtower. Its bell tower, from which the fire was carried, dates from the 13th and 14th centuries.
At the Maison du patrimoine, small groups can enter the lighthouse keeper’s house and learn about the traditional way of life of Berck’s fishermen, as well as visit the “L'habit Berckois” exhibition.
Events
The Rencontres Internationales de Cerfs-Volants began in Berck in 1987 and developed into a major recurring kite-flying event.
