Culture and History
The parish church of Notre Dame de l’Assomption was rebuilt between 1830 and 1841, replacing an earlier building. Its façade features a bell tower. An inscription in the Church of Notre Dame de l’Assomption commemorates the soldier Étienne Bordes, who died in 1758 at Fort Carillon in Canada during the French-English conflict.
Estramiac formerly belonged to the Viscounty of Lomagne. A Gallo-Roman villa stood on part of the land near the village of Estramiac.
The plateau of Estramiac offers far-reaching views; from there, around thirty surrounding church towers can be seen. Two windmills stand on the plateau in the immediate continuation of the village of Estramiac. Of the remains of the two windmills of Estramiac, one has been restored. Below the village of Estramiac is a U-shaped washhouse.
