Trails and Nature
The “Autour des châteaux de Waldeck et de Falkenstein” circular trail is easy, 13.3 kilometres long and takes 4 hours and 15 minutes. It passes through Éguelshardt and Philippsbourg and leads to the ruins of Waldeck Castle. These are open to the public and secured.

The Étang de l'Erbsenthal nature reserve is three kilometres long and covers 33 hectares. The “Sentinelles de grès” circular trail connects the Erbsenfelsen sandstone arch, the wild Waldeck Pond, the Hanau Pond with its marshland, and the ruins of Waldeck Castle. The marshland along the Falkensteinerbach is open to the public and offers opportunities for nature observation.

Culture
Prehistoric grinding stones are visible in the centre of Éguelshardt. The village washhouse is made of pink sandstone and supplied by a local spring.
A prehistoric cave can be discovered near the Notre-Dame-des-Bois Chapel; it is located 250 metres north of the dam of the Erbsenthal Pond. The Notre-Dame-des-Bois Chapel was the only building in Erbsenthal to survive the destruction of the other buildings during the war of 1939 to 1945.
The Sainte-Croix Parish Church was built between 1854 and 1858 and is made of pink sandstone.
History
Waldeck Castle was built at the end of the 13th century on three rocks west of the hamlet of Waldeck for Duke Ferry III of Lorraine.
