Notre-Dame de Loupia is a single-nave building with a pentagonal chancel. The south portal has a pointed arch and is framed by two heraldic niches. The north and south portals, as well as the sculptures on the south façade, were listed as historic monuments by decree of 14 April 1948.
History
The Maison Rougé includes a former blocked-up gate with a pointed arch and a raised coat of arms. The former gate was restored in the 2000s.
The fortified church itself served as a refuge or place of retreat in the event of fires. Loupia’s first enclosing fortification was closed by a single gate on the south side. A second circular enclosure within the first protected the fortified church located at the centre.
