Macinaggio: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Sentier des Douaniers is a 19 km coastal hike between Macinaggio and Centuri. The section between Macinaggio and Barcaggio takes approximately three to three and a half hours. In Macinaggio, the trail begins at the beach north of the marina.

Nature and Trails

Tamarone Beach can be reached on foot from Macinaggio via the Sentier des Douaniers. Tamarone is a sandy beach located at the entrance to a protected nature area.

Port and Sea

The Club Nautique de Macinaggio offers courses in the Hobie Cat 16, the T1 catamaran and Optimist sailing dinghies. The club also rents out sea kayaks, windsurfing boards, Hobie Cats, T1 catamarans, communal dinghies and paddleboards.

Capi Corsu Diving is listed at the marina of Macinaggio. Capi Corsu Diving offers wreck dives and dives at dive sites in Cap Corse, as well as introductory dives. Its services also include diving courses, CMAS and Cedip diving levels, and PADI crossovers.

San Paulu offers guided excursions from Macinaggio to the nature reserve of the Finocchiarola Islands. Also departing from Macinaggio, San Paulu offers excursions to the island of Capraia, which is described as part of a Tuscan national park.

Cuisine and Local Crafts

Fishermen offer their catch in the late morning at the fish market hall in Macinaghju.

The Macinaggio-Rogliano market is a market for regional products. From May to September, it is scheduled to take place on the first and third Friday of each month.

Domaine Terra di Catoni in Macinaggio sells its own wine and olive oil, as well as products from other local producers. After making a reservation, visitors can book a 4x4 tour through the vineyards and the wine cellar at the estate. Domaine Terra di Catoni also offers tastings.

Créations de Mandinuccia has opened a leather workshop with a sales area in the Da Mare residence in Macinaghju.

History

The Tour de Macinaggio is believed to have stood at the mouth of the Goielli stream in the southern part of the present-day port. Today, no structural remains of the Tour de Macinaggio survive; the only indication is a painting in the Saint Marc de Macinaggio church.
