Bouilly: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bouilly is home to the Église Saint-Laurent, a 16th-century church that was listed as a Monument historique on 14 April 1909. Its altarpiece is a reassembly of the former tabernacle of the high altar: carved panels from the 16th century were inserted into a 19th-century framework. The church also houses a finely crafted, polychrome-painted limestone sculpture of Sainte Marguerite, which was displayed in the 2009 exhibition “Le Beau XVIe: chefs-d’œuvre de la sculpture en Champagne”. Architecturally, it has a double transept, in which two naves cross the main nave.

Culture and History

South of Bouilly lies the Source du Crot de la Doux, a developed spring with a 600-metre-long masonry capture tunnel, built in 1868. This capture tunnel made Bouilly the first municipality in the Aube department to have a water distribution network.

The Forêt communale de Bouilly covers approximately 198 hectares. The Sentier des Moutons is an 18-kilometre circular trail with 8- and 12-kilometre variants that starts in Bouilly. It passes through a forest massif with birch, beech, oak, acacia, hornbeam, holly, wild cherry and black pine trees.

Bouilly is known for fruity cider made from the local orchards.
