Josnes is part of the agriculturally oriented small region of Beauce, an expansive landscape with cereal crops, oilseed and protein crops, as well as sugar beet and potatoes. Agricultural and natural areas cover almost the entire municipal territory.

Landscape and Nature
The “Petite Beauce” Natura 2000 Special Protection Area for birds encompasses the western parts of the built-up areas of Josnes and Messilly, which are bordered by the RD917, as well as the part of Isy located north of the RD25.
During the breeding season, the municipality of Josnes offers potential habitat for birds of the open plain, especially thanks to its numerous cultivated areas. Scattered wooded areas and fallow land serve numerous bird species as hunting and resting places.

Culture and History
The Church of Saint Médard in Josnes is a Neo-Romanesque building constructed in 1862. Josnes is also home to a Protestant temple built in 1853.
The Château de Cerqueux dates from 1750 and is privately owned. The façades, roofs, staircase and its wrought-iron banister have been protected as elements of a historic monument since 30 September 1975.
Josnes was situated on the former Roman routes from Blois to Vendôme and from Meung to Paris. The former Saint-Glinglin festival was held in Prenay-Le Plessis, a hamlet in the municipality of Josnes, at the end of each summer.
