Préporché is surrounded by the green, wooded hills of the Morvan. The town is located not far from the Dragne and Vandenesse rivers and offers numerous viewpoints over the Morvan mountains.

The 11-kilometre Circuit de l'étang Boiré circular route passes through hamlets in the area around Préporché. One section leads to Étang Boiré and along the shore of the pond. On the return towards Préporché, the route continues as far as the first houses in the town.
Culture
The present-day Saint-Pierre church in Préporché dates from the 16th century and preserves the Romanesque portal of its predecessor. It also has eight remarkable contemporary stained-glass windows on the theme of the four seasons. The windows were designed by the artist Isabel Michel with the support of master glassmaker Guy Méliava.
The Circuit vélo de la Queudre cycle route passes through Préporché. You can stop at Saint-Pierre church and view its stained-glass windows.
Trails and Routes
The La Perle du Morvan circular walking route follows a two-kilometre path to Préporché.
The Circuit vélo des eaux du Morvan runs along small, lightly trafficked roads. On the return journey, the route continues via Préporché to Saint-Honoré-les-Bains. It also passes through deciduous forests, pastureland and small villages in the southern Morvan.
