Harjattula: History, Golf and the Sea
Accommodation in Harjattula
Harjattula combines a history dating back to the 13th century with a sandy seaside beach and activities for active days. Golf, padel and disc golf offer different ways to spend your time; there is also cycling, saunas and local places to eat. When choosing your holiday rental, you can consider which of these sides of Harjattula you would like to shape your stay.
History in the Greenhouse
Harjattula’s history dates back to the 13th century. A distinctive chapter in the area’s history can be seen in the six greenhouses built in Harjattula: one of them is still used as Harjattulan Lasipalatsi. Lasipalatsi is Harjattula’s largest and most popular event venue, where celebrations for up to 250 people can be held. Here, the history of the greenhouses meets their present-day use for events.
The Sea and Swimming in Different Seasons
The sandy beach provides access to the sea and an opportunity to swim. You can also swim in natural waters in Harjattula in winter. If you like to include time by the water in your travel plans, there are two seasonal options: the beach and winter swimming.
Golf and Exercise
Harjattula Golf offers more than just the course itself: the facility includes a driving range, putting, chipping and pitching greens, and practice bunkers. The golf course is 5,885 metres long from the club tees. Visiting players can book a tee time two days before playing; online booking is available after the green fee has been paid in advance. If you would like golf to be a central part of your stay, you can take these practice facilities and the course length into account when planning.
Other activities offer different options: there is a padel court in the centre of Harjattula, as well as a disc golf course. Together with golf, they provide a choice of different sports, without implying that they are located together or that there is a specific route between them.
Cycle Route, Sauna and Places to Eat
A well-maintained, signposted cycle route leads from the Aurajoki riverside promenade to Harjattula. The connection is part of Route 4, “Kakskerran kierros.” If you are considering including a cycling trip in your travels, you can use this designated route as one option.
The saunas also differ in what they offer. Harjattulan Kartano’s Rantasauna Jellona has two hot tubs and can host celebrations for up to 70 people. The Kartanon sauna in the main building has a private courtyard, a hot tub and changing rooms, and is particularly suitable for groups of 8 to 12 people. Details about the facilities and group sizes may be useful if you are planning to include a sauna visit or celebration in your stay.
Restaurant Wanha Talli is located in a former stable and serves breakfast and lunch from Monday to Friday. At Rantakahvila Juho Kusti, you can enjoy homemade Kustin-Jäde ice cream and fresh Munkki doughnuts. This gives you different dining options for your trip: a meal at the restaurant, or ice cream and pastries at the café.
Accommodation and Other Places
Harjattulan Kartano’s manor house has single and double rooms for overnight stays. Kartano also provides catering for weddings, family celebrations, evening events, cocktail events and corporate celebrations.
